Computer Science Department
The Computer Science Department is an academic discipline that studies the theoretical foundations, design, development and applications of computers and computing systems. Our students receive comprehensive training in computer hardware, software and how these systems work. Some of the main areas of study in the Department of Computer Science:
Algorithms and Data Structures: Methods and data organizations used to process information efficiently.
Programming Languages: Design, analysis and implementation of languages used to develop software.
Software Engineering: Design, development and maintenance of large and complex software systems.
Computer Architecture: Design and operation of hardware components of computers.
Database Management Systems: Storage, management and processing of data.
Networks and Communications: Working principles of computer networks and the Internet.
Artificial Intelligence: Studies covering areas such as machine learning, natural language processing and robotics.
Cyber Security: Security and protection of information systems.
Computer Graphics: Visual and graphical data processing and presentation.
Our department aims to provide students with practical skills as well as theoretical knowledge. With our modern laboratories and experienced academic staff, we train our students as future technology leaders. Our students graduate as sought-after professionals in the business world by reinforcing their knowledge and skills with innovative projects and research.
Computer Science Department History
The Computer Science Department; started its education-training activities for the first time in the 2023-2024 Academic Year with a quota of 30 (thirty) students within the Faculty of Science of Ankara University.

Academic Staff
There is one professor, one associate professor and one assistant professor in our department. In our courses, we receive support from faculty members from various faculties, especially from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Open and Distance Education of Ankara University, and we also add new faculty members to our staff every day.
Laboratory
As the Department of Computer Science, we carry out our applications in a computer laboratory located in the Faculty of Science.

Student Life and Campus Facilities
Our department, located in Ankara University Beşevler 10. Yıl Campus, has easy access to both dormitories and all neighborhoods. Our faculty also provides many sports activities such as swimming complex, tennis courts, football, basketball and volleyball courts.
Scholarships and Supports
Among our students who need financial support to continue their education, students determined according to objective criteria are offered the opportunity to work as part-time students in our University and Faculty.
